Miya's water efficiency solutions are not limited to tackling urban distribution systems worldwide, but also cater to raising awareness for affective water use in local communities. The Bahamas Weekly reports about one such program run by Miya and WSC (Bahamas Water and Sewerage Company) at a local school in the Bahamas.
"The students (5th graders) in the program were taught about the importance of water to human existence. and the value of using water efficiently to ensure the abundance of fresh water, which is Miya’s vision," said David Arison, Miya's VP of Global Business Relations. The program also included the implementation of water conservation measures at the school, including replacement of lavatories and faucets, which reduced the water consumption at the school by 20%.
